The Darkside of Pattaya

The Darkside is located over the train tracks on the other side of Sukhumvit highway. The mysterious name has origins in the lack of street lighting for many years during its development, but these days it carries more meaning as being a town secret. Not so many first timers find their way into the darkside. A large quantity of expats call this part of the city home, and enjoy its quieter and more relaxed atmosphere.

As the area is still developing, it offers extremely affordable housings compared to the more central areas in Pattaya. This makes it a tempting opportunity for those who are in the market and want to make Pattaya their new home.

This large area still houses shops, pubs, beer bars, girly bars, gogo bars, restaurants, hotels and guesthouses – just less than the busier and noisier beach side. The majority of the nightlife here is found mainly concentrated around Soi Khao Noi and Soi Khao Talo.
